My first ever Harley. Pick it up in a weeks time. Its got laced wheels.
Does this mean it will have inner tubes or are the tyres tubeless?

I live in the uk. We are metric and all my tools were built up for working
on jap bikes. What size spanners and sockets do I need. Are they special
US sizes? What do you call the sizing system so I can buy some.

Cheers

Bigfat

RK -- Good choice. I have an '03.
the tyres are tubeless AND inner tubes are employed.
The spanners are not *special sizes* just a good set SAE sockets will do.
You will need a good set of TORX bits and a good pair of torque wrenches (1
low range and one high range). First buy the shoppe manual! Next buy the
SE air cleaner and some high flow exhaust and the Power Commander fuel
injection/timing programming module -- then you are all set for serious
scooting. Have fun.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Tools - you need an old imperial set, also known in the US as SAE (the
imperial units are often termed "English" as opposed to Metric). Think
inches instead of centimetres. You should be able to get one just about
anywhere (cheap if you find them at a jumble sale).

Tyres - If they are laced they have an inner tube.

Did you ever notice that when you put the two words "The" and "IRS"
