A friend's parents have a place near Crossville, TN, which is about 30 miles
or so south of Smyrna, TN. Four or five of us Michiganders are already
getting cabin fever pretty badly for a ride, so are considering going down
there maybe in late Feb/early March for a few days of riding. Don't want any
terribly tight, technical 1T that'd make a hardcore rider sweat, but don't
want all open fire roads, either. Imagine maybe some nice ORV-ish (read
30-40") trail that's challenging, but not such that you'd have a terribly
tough time with it and wonder why the hell you drove all the way from
Michigan to struggle this much. You get my drift....

Anyway, anybody here familiar with riding in that general area? Can you
point me to some good spots and/or resources to explore? Thanks!

Andy,

Why don't you and the boys join us at the WUDI???? Looks like it is right in
your time frame. It's a great time and offers any rider a challenge. Here is
the web site.

There is a nice motocross track in Crossville that I have ridden several
times. Check the pictures out at <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.mxgeek.com/92803.htm" target="_blank">http://www.mxgeek.com/92803.htm</a>

Thanks Andy and Opie. Will check it out. I've got one of the guys maybe
interested in WUDI. About the MX track near Crossville we probably shouldn't
try that...we both ride XR650Rs, and they're not real nimble on an MX track!
We actually rode a local's MX track in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on a
trip two years ago. Was kinda neat as I'd always wanted to try riding an MX
course, and it both gave me a new respect for the guys that do it
professionally as well as gave me a new understanding of just how tight your
bunghole can get in midair on a 650R when you realize you really shouldn't
have hit that jump nearly that fast! <g>
