Pasted from a reply:
>>Hi Frank,

service indicator on Ducati Motorcycles can be resetted only by a Ducati
Official Maintenance Center with his dedicate Diagnostic Instrumentation.<<

Why does the original poster not look in their owners manual where I assume
that small gem of information would have been surely described?
My Monster 620 handbook had it, and I am sure that the ST4S would have it
also.
From memory the 2 pushbuttons on the speedo and tacho are pressed in a
certain sequence.
Why not ask a Ducati Dealer to explain it over the phone, or better still
ask why they did not reset it when the service was carried out?. I doubt a
diagonistic tool is needed.

Rob.

Duh. Why didn't I think of that. Ohhh Right...I did.

Here is what is in the manual.

13) Service warning.
The light comes on to signal that the vehicle has covered
the distance corresponding to a Scheduled Maintenance
interval. The light keeps flashing until the vehicle has
travelled 50 km after hitting the service interval. Then it
stays on permanently. The system shall be reset by the
DUCATI Authorised Service Center that has serviced the
vehicle.

I tried the buttons like on other Ducati with no luck.
As I stated, I like to wrench my own bikes hence the question as I did not
take it to the Dealer to begin with.

Hold left button down and then turn ignition switch wait till the
tach and speedo cycle through (speedo and tach needles go from 0 to
top and then back) that should do it.
