Post subject: Renting a bike in May
Archived from groups: ba>motorcycles (more info?)

Hi all,

I used to live in Mountain View and Los Altos in the late 90s, so I am
somewhat familiar with the Bay Area.

Anyway, with any luck my employer will be sending me to Java One sometime in
May. My plan is to arrive early and rent a bike. I see there is a Harley
rental place near the Mascone Ctr and Giants Stadium.

I'd like to pick the bike up about 4-5pm Saturday and keep it until Sunday
eve.

Saturday night I'd ride over the Golden Gate, over Mt. Tam and into Stinson
Beach for dinner.

Sunday I'd head to Half Moon Bay (is Barbs fish shack still there?) and down
to Santa Cruz via the one, then go through Boulder Creek (What is that old
hotel with the Sunday Brunch?) up to Skyline, down and up Page Mill or down
to El Monte in Los Altos, then on to Alice's for a bite to eat and return
the bike.

How's that sound? Any recommendations from you locals?

I normally ride an F4i, so I'm thinking of getting an 883 Sportster, the big
Harleys are ok, but 800 lbs ain't my style. And the 883 is near half the
price.

Talk to DubbelJu-- www.dubbelju.com. In addition to Harleys,
they have a full line of BMWs and a few Triumphs and Hondas.
They're in the city, south of Market.
