Ever wonder what happens to the gasoline taxes you pay at the pump—for
your off-road motorcycle or ATV, your snowmobile or 4x4? Did you know
that the federal gasoline tax goes to fund a variety of programs one
of which is the Recreational Trails Program (RTP)? RTP is an
increasingly important program because every year, as more and more
Americans seek to use recreational trails for a variety of activities,
these funds are used to construct and maintain recreational trails
helping to make them safer.

Funding levels for RTP are currently being considered by the House of
Representatives, H.R. 3550. This bill includes even greater funding
for RTP than the Senate bill which passed just recently. RTP funding
would start at $70 million annually and grow to $150 million over the
next five years. ARRA followed the funding debate for RTP when it was
being considered by the Senate and is following the debate even closer
as it is now being taken up by the House of Representatives.

Your Member of Congress needs to hear from you now as funding levels
are being decided.

ARRA supports responsible recreation and would like Congress to fairly
and adequately fund the Recreational Trails Program. So get involved
by writing to your Representative and expressing your support for
better recreational trails. Click the below link to write your
Representative.

Unfortunately, around here, giving them more money just means they can
pay more over time to get more trails closed off and to enforce the
closing. Smile<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I sent a letter, but my She-congressperson is a f*ing idiot and a
Democrat who ALWAYS votes against recreation, and for land-closure,
and believes the Big-Lie(s) and total exagerations that the
greenweenies perpetuate.

No matter what I write to her, in return I get the bureaucratic scorn
of an "opposite-letter" -- her standard boilerplate that ignores
everything, anything, and whatever I've said, while pointing out how
she is going to vote the other way.

There's no real impact except that by their generating a computerized
response they implicitly acknowledge receipt of *something* from me,
however redundant my opinion, but it comes out of my taxes, her
postage is free.

I can't see how any dirtbiker would vote for these people,
consistently Democrats, who routinely ally against us with the lying
scum-sucking eco-tards, and who seek the elimination and demise of our
sport, our pursuit of happiness, and our joy.
