Strangely, the road-safety experts are not congratulating the road-users at
this wonderful state of affairs, even though last year there was much
breast-beating and ripping of bodices about the stupidity of the public.
Perhaps all the stupid ones were killed last year?
Or perhaps last year was a blip that was never really likely to be repeated,
despite the appalling state of many of the major roads
