Sat 9th Feb

Camp Quality mass pillion ride is on again!

Need to Pre-register as it's "working with children" so you need to
have a background check.

Details here: http://www.mccofnsw.org.au/a/196.html

please print the forms and ring Kath or Garry

Remember: If this $70 money spinner is enforced, I say: "I have a current
first aid, but I am not allowed to use this for children, goodbye."

Oh, OK, now I understand what you're getting at.

To be fair to the cops, they aren't actually hired for their abilities
to foretell the future.

Work employs a teacher (who has to have periodic background checks for
that job) as a part time bus driver (who has to have another periodic
background check for that) and will shortly have to have a 3rd set of
periodic background checks (working with children regs).

I would have thought one central checking centre would have been enough
personally (assuming they sent check results to each requesting department).

Nope. Every new thing you do that requires a background check requires a
specific check be done, irrespective of how many previous and current
checks have already been performed on the individual in question. Nobody
talks to anybody, it would seem.

Oh I realise that's the case. It just seems rather wasteful of
resources to me *shrug*.

There is an overruling check which is 3 yearly or new material based , I
expect with the new legislation slated federally the states will have to
fall into line and the cash cow will be stopped later this year .

Cam, it should be immediately apparent from the above that namidos is a
policeman.

I took the sidecar last year, was a good day. I took two little girls
out in the sidecar.

Cant go this year as it clashes with Karuah River Rally. But the
background check would stop me too I'm afraid, no problems passing but
I wouldnt spend the time to fill in the paperwork either. Its a shame
I'm sure this restriction will affect this event greatly.
