Does the xv750 Virago muffler have baffles in it? Are they removable? I
know it has a muffler box as part of the exhaust system. Looking to make a
"little bit more noise" with out spending a fortune on a bike I'm not going
to have forever

They do have baffles, I wanted the same thing for my bike, I eventually
drilled out the back of the pipes, I did not like the idea to drilling out
the entire baffle with a 2 inch hole saw, so I drilled three holes 1/2 inch
in diameter, here is a picture:

I have just upgraded to an aftermarket drag pipe by jardine - and changed
out the air cleaner pod - looks better in my opinion but back to the jardine
drag pipes... obscenely loud... I love em... but I'm afraid I may get a
ticket for noise because they are so loud... but it sounds just plain
awesome ~dave

Thanks for the info, looks like even I can do that... I had thought about
aftermarket pipes, but they are starting to crack down here in Connecticut.
A friend with a Screaming eagle Tour Glide just got a loud pipes ticket
(first one is free, but you have to go to DMV for inspection). Not Fun

Do what you will, but I have never understood the attraction of more noise.
Isn't part of the fun of riding to be closer to your surroundings? Why mask
it with noise? If my car was noisy.... I wouldn't have purchased it!

Even if I liked a Harley (which I don't), I shudder as I couldn't get by the
offensive noise they make. It's just painful noise!

It's not the Harley, it's the stupid aftermarket pipes they put on after
they buy it.
Harley has to meet the same noise regs as the rest of the motorcycle
industry. But there's nowt they can do to stop a Harley buyer from
screwing with that.

I agree I don't understand why so many riders go for LOUDER PIPES I mean
most cage riders are enclosed with the radio going they will not hear you.
