Should be an interesting race. A new circuit for everyone and a few surprises
in qualifying. Apparently the Shanghai circuit has a couple of long straights
like the old Hockenheim circuit.

I wonder what they're going to show at 4pm? According to the Shanghai website
the race starts at 3pm local time, which will be 5pm AEST, so I wonder what Ch
10 are showing from 4pm to 5pm, unless they're going to show a delayed
telecast of the 250s on the back of Stoner's win last round.

Digital or analogue ? With or without Telstra discount ? Cheapest quote
I got before I joined the evil empire was $65 on a 2year contract (to
get the bike racing channel (fox 2?)) plus a hundred bucks I think for
install. I said no*. Couldn't justify the bucks. If I could convince one
of the pubs around here to put it on reliably with sound I wouldnt need
to worry about it.

I was stuck at work today and I couldn't be bothered walking 20 metres from my
desk to the TV with Foxtel so I paid the 4 euros and subscribed to the 'live'
streaming for the day. For the 250s it was acceptable, I got to see the whole
race without too much buffering. The 125cc race stopped about half way
through and every time I reloaded the video stream it just played the previous
few seconds then stopped at the same spot again, though It did clear up with a
few laps to go. The MotoGP was pretty much a non-event. The webpages were
taking forever to load and when the video streaming finally did start working
it was very dodgy with constant stop/start buffering interruptions, and was 9
laps behind by the time the race finished... which would probably be
acceptable and to be expected if I was watching it via my 1500/256 ADSL at
home, but considering i had the company internet connection literally to
myself (I don't know what speed it is rated at but sucking down a 20MB file
takes about 20 seconds ordinarily) which normally services up to 20,000 people
during the day it was appalling to say the least.

Hmm... not sure. All I recall is $49.95 per-month but my install price was
$260 because I only wanted the 6-month SBK season.
(That was just a smidgeon cheaper than doing the 2-year deal and paying $5
per month for the maximum 3-months-per-year dormant.)
That's for digital cable.
