Hi everyone,
I've got a Monster 600 Dark '00. Some days ago I begun to smell some
fuel in my garage and discovered a very little loss under the tank,
very close to the vertical cylinder head.
My mechanic said that it's a typical Ducati Monster series problem
with metallic fuel tank, and it's very difficult to fix it by
soldering.
Surfing the Net, I've discovered that it's a very common problem, so
why there's no a recall campaign of this dangerous and known problem ?
Can you suggest me how can I fix it or I'm condemned to replace it
with a new one (990 EURs :-[[[ ) ?
Thanks, and sorry for my bad english Wink
Bye !

Quite easy!

Coat it inside with 3M Scotch-Clad Coating 776.
It cures ... and prevents ... corrosion inside the tank.
I used ½ litre in the tank, turned it arround several times, for hours!
Then it has to dry 3-4 days!!!!

It leaves a layer inside the tank, that also seals small holes.
Off course you have to remove fuel crank etc. (just to be sure you do
it!)
