mid life crisis....
We all have them.
I have always DREAMED of having a 1984 V65 Magna.
Bought one recently.
WOW. Why have I waited so long?????
Awesome bike.
Not nearly as powerful as my GSXR1000.
Not nearly as comfortable as my '01 GL1800.
Not nearly as pretty as my GT750 Waterbuffallo.
But it is hands down my favorite bike that I have owned.
I encourage everyone to get one!
David

There's something about those 'goofy' '80s bikes they came out with.
I need a commuter bike, at least a twin, for the 45-50 mile jaunt to
work.

I dream on the old (late 70s) CB400 twin...
The version with two front brake disks and one rear is simply
beautiful, art in motion, would do great with my 35km commute...

I had:
1973 Honda CL450 Scrambler
1976 Honda CB555F Super Sport
1982 Kawasaki GPz550
1992 Honda CBR600F2

Sean,
I bought a 1976 550 Supersport brand new. Unfortunately I had mounted a
Windjammer for the lovebugs in Florida and it handled poorly. But it had an
orange gas tank and trim and was perty to look at.
But, it was a fun bike, wallowing through the sugar sand.

Hi Joe,
Mine was the metallic copper. It had clip ons and rear sets. It was a
great handler, reliable but not as fast as it looked!! >> Stay informed about: Mid-Life crissis |

The GPz was a great handler and FAST!!! I used to kill 750's on it.
My buddy John (RIP) had a cool 1984 GPz750 Turbo that just ate my
GPz550 for breakfast. Now that was REALLY FAST!! >> Stay informed about: Mid-Life crissis |

Not as 'sporty', but seeing as how I could piss off my sportbike
friend on a loaned shadow 750 (early model), lookin' sporty isn't
always a requirement.

Vaguely. This was the earlier 750, when the shadow 1st came out and
there was only the 750, and it was fairly tall.

Years ago, I swore off any bike with more than 2 cylinders. The breaking
point was rebuilding a mid 80's Interceptor. 16 valves & 4 carbs is simply
too much to maintain.
If I were to get a V65, it would be the Sabre.
