I just got a insurance quote from Geico for $328/year on my Suzuki DL1000,
Progressive was $588/year.
That is $260 difference. What insurance do you use?

So what's wrong with Allstate? I've heard many sing their praises.

oh, they are fine as an insurance company, but when they went and decided
that sportbikes were bad they quadrupled all their rates one afternoon and
pissed me off for at least a few years....

15 years I've had bike policys with them and outta the blue, 10 years of
clear driving and no accidents and KA-POW!....."sorry troy, thats just the
way it is now"...

What a pain....

The good news is they aren't very pricey at all on the 650, and I don't use
insurance on the trackbike, so it still doesn't cost me much, but if I want
to go out some afternoon and snag the zx-10R....KA-POW! again.......<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

State Farm for all my vehicles including my Gixxer 750. Cheapest insurance I
can find for the bike.

State Farm.
Consistantly the cheapest for Sportbikes. Progressive on the other hand was
the lowest for my Wife's BMW R1200C. Can't get Geico in Michigan. $470 for
the RC and $412 for the VFR. Wish I could do better than that and no
multi-vehicle discount.

Seconded. But you need a car policy first, at least around here.

Aloha,
I use State Farm and they give me a pretty good rate because we have our car,
home, and business with them as well.

I use Farmer's, but I was grandfathered in, now I believe all MC
policies are "Farmed" out to a subsidiary of theirs called Foremost.
I pay around $400.00 a year for the Speed Triple. The Daytona being a
trackbike is uninsured.

Progressive here. They cover my 03 R6 and KTM 640 lc4 for $276 a year.
Liability only...

Moving from Arlington, Virginia to Purcellville (45 miles west) cut the
cost in half.

Everything is cheaper in Houston. My wife is going to look for income
properties down there since we really can't afford them here in Seattle.

Farmers Insurance
Full coverage, 500 deducts on
2003 Yamaha R1 = 458 /year
1998 Honda VTR =326 /year
1994 BMW R1100RS = 325/year

this is in San Francisco, CA, one of the all time most expensive zip codes
to insure in.

I'm using Foremost... It's about $350 for full coverage on a 2001
SV650/S. No rider insurance (I think that was an extra $10 or so, but I
don't ride with anyone). Also includes $6 for roadside assistance.
