Post subject: Learner legal bikes

I've been holding off on buying a bike preparatory to getting my learner's
permit, partly because I'm about to get married and have very little cash
but also partly because if Victoria is ditching the 260cc limit in favour of
a power/weight limit in 2008 I'd rather have a ~400cc bike with a fatter
torque curve that'll happily manage freeway speeds than a 250cc screamer
even if it lacks top-end urge. A quick Google seems to indicate that this is
still all up in the air but a couple of newspaper articles I've seen lately
seem more certain. The VicRoads website wasn't helpful. Can anyone shed some
light on this? |

Oops, I should have looked a bit harder. Looks like it's all happening
mid-next year. I'll just need to wait for them to publish the list so I can
start working out what I want to ride. |

motorbike before the wedding.
This establishes a clear pre-nuptual right.
Any motorcycle is better than no motorcycle.

Agreed, you also have to marry the right person. If Resound thinks now she
will object to a motorcycle later, you'd better forget about the motorcycle
until after the 2.4 children and the divorce.
On the other hand Angie limits Cam to what the shed will hold, and when I
suggested to Helen that a Norge would be a nice replacement for the Cali she
asked what colour I was going to get.

Her car's in the garage along with the beer fridge. My ute's in the carport.
My bike is in her shed. I don't allow vehicles in my shed. There's no bloody
room anyway, it's only 92 sq metres.

My beloved bride to be differs from me in many way. One of the ways in which
she differs from me is that she already has a bike license. She got that
well before getting her car license and thinks getting a bike is a damn fine
