she wears this skimpy red miniskirt to work. Go figure.

Is it as ugly in person as it is in pics? And why is there some thing
in all the magazines about comapring it to the V-Max? It doesn't have
anything of the "power cruiser" about it my way of thinking. Did
Suzuki build to compete head-to-head with potential V-Max buyers?

Yep, that's pretty disgusting, all right! I had to look 3 or 4 times
to be sure, though...

'Cruiser' ???? Uh huh. Like my pinky finger was in porn
movies.

I just don't know how you're supposed to ride a street bike
that only has 180 HP on 550 lbs of machine. Luckily, it's not
weighted down by things like an actual functional fairing or
windscreen, which only get in the way over 140 MPH, your most common
riding speed range on a street bike.

Maybe it can actually get out of it's own way.

Nice headlights. Small, but perky and well placed.

FWIW, a buddy of mine who rides a V-Max and is contemplating
buying another V-Max, is also lusting after a B-King in a
big way, so yes, I would say so. It's a "standard" or
"naked" (non-sportsbike) with a hugely powerful engine, just
as the V-Max is.

Absolutely hideous. The bike, that is. I don't often go out on a limb
as far as aesthetic bike design, but I gotta say, the direction
motorcycle design has taken in the last few years is excruciatingly
ugly. Of course it harkens back to motards and hooligan bikes, but it
seems to have taken on a life of its own - how ugly can we make it?
You hoped the duckbill on the BMW GS's was just an anomoly, but it's
now a design point (see the obscene NCR Leggera.) Even Guzzi, that
stalwart of good sense, has fallen to the idiocy. What a shame. But
the B-King takes the cake.

I would have to agree, having just accidentally seen one
in a dealership on Tuesday. Since it was positioned very
close to the door, I had to stumble around it to get by.

Shat a quick glance, followed by a doubletake scan. I
thought maybe it was a new/enhanced VMAX. But, the
guys with me seemed somewhat clued at least to what
it was. Then the sales guy shuffled over and they all talk-
ed about some kind of switch used to control power.

Actually, if you were to stare at it long enough, it probably
won't look so bad, Maybe, even become attractive.

What kills me is all the pics I see in magazines of retro-styled bikes
that look like they could have rolled right out of the '70s but are
only sold in Europe and/or Asia with "no plans to bring them to the
US". I would love to be able to pick and choose from a selection of
standard-styled motorcycles of the sort that were the norm when I
started riding as a teen but with modern engineering and parts
availability behind them. I would take something like that over
anything that is currently available here. I lusted greatly for the
Kawasaki early-'80s retro bike that available here 7 or 8 years ago
but wasn't in a position to buy one at the time.

It's those stupid nonfunctional scoops.

I like it. Unique, comfortable, excellent handling/braking,
and massive horse pressure. <g>
