Can any UK owners recommend a good-value insurance company, for
insuring a Harley?
One slight complication: My license was suspended for six months,
ending last June. Reason: too many FP30 penalty points for speeding
convictions within a 3-year period (speeding in cars, that is).
Apart from that, my license is clean. My age: 55. I've had a full
motorcycle license since 1976.
Last time I insured a bike was in 1999 (also a Harley). Can't remember
the company.
Cheers. Drinks on me..

Come on man, your on the computer and you most likely have a phone,
yet you want people to spoon feed insurance information to you.
What's up with that? You need someone to google UK insurance
companies for you too? You want they should get the estimates and
decide which is better for your non-existent bike too?
Sheesh, get off your ass and do something for yourself!

I spent a long time phoning around UK insurance companies getting
rippof overblown quotes last time, until someone happened to mention a
company that specialised in insuring Harleys, who were reasonable, and
I had not found them during my google searches. I googled again today
but the company didn't show up.

You've not tried to insure something over here then I gather?
It's a heck of a lot easier getting Johnny Foreigner on someone's US
insurance than the other way round. I'm on my wife's US car insurance
but can I get her on my UK car insurance? Can I heck...

Good value insurance in the UK? You trying to extract the urine?

Ta, I'll have a tea...
Carole Nash is usually a good bet, as is ebikeinsurance. Greybeard on
uk.rec.motorcycle recommended some Harley specialist a while back, may
be worth using Google Groups to find that post.

Don't you people believe in personal referrals then? You just google
for the first or cheapest company that comes up and assume they are
going to give value for money? Get off your own ass - and do a crash
course in living intelligently, bozo.

Yeah, it has got bad here over the past few years. Used to be a lot
simpler.

Sure we believe in personal referrals. I use the insurnace company of a guy
in my chapter. You won't find him by Googling nor would he want to insure
you.
>Get off your own ass - and do a crash course in living intelligently, bozo.
You don't know a thing about me so I can't find any merit to "get off your
own ass" nor "do a crash course in living intelligently".
I do like the "bozo" attempt at making a cutting remark. Stung me bad. My
life will never be the same.
