Between this and the other questions in other threads, you really need
to sit down with your insurance agent and get them to explain these
things to you. You asked about whether to insure the bike first, or the
car. With my insurance company, I can't add a car to a bike policy. Talk
to your agent, have him/her do the numbers both ways.

In all these of the form X/Y, X is the max amount paid per individual
involved, where Y is the Overall max. So if you have 4 people claiming
50,000 on a 25/50, the insurance will only pay 50,000, and no more than
25,000 to any one of them. You get the other 50,000. BTW, my insurance
only runs me a few bucks a month more for 50/100 over 25/50. With the
value of vehicles today, I wouldn't go for less.

Ded is Deductible, or how much you pay before your insurance kicks in.
Most deductibles are written on a per year basis, but some are on a per
claim basis. A 1000 deductible per claim is absolutely worthless. ASK.
Comp covers things like windshields, where Collision fixes YOUR vehicle
if you are at fault in a wreck.

I also suggest you talk to your parents and find out what they are carrying
on their own cars. If you are less then 21 they may be sued if you have a
wreck. So they should have some input. I also suggest you go into you
local cycle dealer and talk to some of the other owners and see what they
are carrying. At my local cycle dealer there are tons of people just
visiting, it like Disney world on the weekends. Smile Ask around this is
very important stuff.

good luck,

liability is the dollor amout of liability coverage you want 25/50 is 25000
per person max to a total of 50000 same with

50/100---100/300---and so on and so on.

prperty damage should now be self-explanatory.

uninsured motorists means if your hit by someone with no insurance and limits
are the same as explained above.

collision ded is the dollar amount of decuctible you pay before the insurance
company clicks in you have 5000 dollars damage and you have a 200 dollar
deductible you pay the first 200 dollars. the higher your deductable the lower
your premium.
