Has anyone been to this place? What kind of terrian? I just heard
about it at ThumperTalk, and it appears its opening day was April 16,
2004. This is the first I've heard of it. It's near Buffalo Range and
300 acres.

If it's any good, I'll probably head out there with the DRZ.

Addres is:
2681 E. Route 6
Marseilles, IL 61341.

If you go out there let us know what it's like. Always good to have
more midwestern riding areas..

It's near Buffalo Range and very close to Fox Valley Off Road.

One thing is the guy built it with the intentions of getting the state
grant money alloted for off-road parks. That means: A) it can't
discriminate against off-road vehicles (jeeps/buggies allowed) and B)
sound restrictions are strictly enforced.

However, it doesn't look like he's going to get his grant money. He
wants pretty much all of the $1.6 million that's in the pot and with
the two private parks so close by (Buffalo and FVOR), it doesn't seem
too fair to give him a $1.6 mil. head start when the two other
businesses were funded by the owners putting their necks on the line.
Obviously, more parks are wonderful, but those who put their own money
on the table should be rewarded not put out of business.

I don't know... it there was money to be had and they were't
insightfull enough to ask for it, and this other guy was... tough
luck. Anyone even considering a venture in to the business side or
dirt... knows it's s longshot.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

One did ask for it and was turned down.

I do see that point, though.

My only thing is regardless of state/federal help, NOTHING will happen
without initiative on the personal level. Men/women with the intiative
to make a park happen on their own are few and far between. It would
suck if one of them were to lose it, even if the net result for riders
would be nil (i.e., one park traded for another).
