After watching the morning news, I found some of the comments made by
the 'illegal's' supporters quite amusing. The best was when the march
was described as the 'new civil rights movement'. As an 'outsider' on
this issue I couldn't figure out how they (illegals) can possibly think
of themselves as 'slaves to the white rascists'.

They left their country of their own free will to look for a better life
in the States, without going through the proper channels. Now they are
bitching about 'rights' they think they should have. If these guys all
get an 'amnesty', it makes a joke of the whole immigration system and is
unfair on the people who are trying to enter legally.

From the way I see it, it's the people who employ 'illegals' to do work
for them are the cause of this flood. If they knew they HAD to have a
'green card' or there would be no work, they would stop coming over. And
nail the employers at the same time. If they are paying 'illegals' in
cash, they are dodging the tax system as well.

Or, if all the illegals were gone, would 'real' Americans do the work
the 'illegals' did?

Alas, not true. Anyone can pick up a very well-done fake green card, social
security card, and driver's lisence all in one package for circa $60. The
waiting time is about 1/2 hour, and it's no harder to find the sellers than
it is to buy drugs.

Well, it would raise the labor costs by a significant amount, but that's who
did these jobs before the invasion from the south began.

Uh, how does that work? What happens if you get stopped by the cops
and they try to dial up your D/L # on their computer and it doesn't
check out? The forgers can't fake an entry in the state's MV records
can they?

Same question applies to the other doco; no matter how good
the forgery is, there's nothing behind it.

Apparently pretty well. They get plenty of jobs with those I.D.s. (Which is,
after all, the point.)

They run; thereby providing everyone with entertainment by causing accidents
that kill and maim innocent bystanders. And, of course, since they carry no
insurance said innocents are totally on their own when it comes to paying
for the resulting hospitalization.

> The forgers can't fake an entry in the state's MV records

Not yet.

It's good enough to get them by from day to day. If it weren't, there would
be no market for fake I.D.s. Comprende?

True. And the illegals would be shooting themselves in their own foot
cause once they're legit they're no longer employable @ $3/hr.

Sure. Let's screw over the small businessman and eradicate all forms
of non-corporate business. Wal Mart for everyone!

>Or, if all the illegals were gone, would 'real' Americans do the work
>the 'illegals' did?

Probably not. 'Real Americans' would rather collect welfare than work
the kinds of jobs that illegals do. Illegals can't cause they're not
on the books. Say... now all this legalisation business starts to make
sense! Pedro wants to take a siesta on your dime.

I kinda wonder why politicians are even noticing this issue. They
usually don't pay attention to voters, let alone illegal alien
non-voters.

They were these bomb carrying dudes with long beards who were hiding
out all over the country waiting to strike and who had to be rooted out
mercilessly ? Boy I'm glad we don't have that.

Yeah, they were all done away with a long time ago. So was the 8-hour
workday for that matter.

You know, ever since I got my computer repaired, when I turn it on, it
makes this little trumpet sound and a voice says something like,
"Hola, mi amigo! Que Honda?" I always wondered, how did it know what
kind of motorcycle I ride?

I think they're both supposed to be hated and feared

Another riderless day, eh Brian? Smile

I see a greater problem. People want to enter US because they
can find work, illegally or not. Their country leaders need
to fix the problems in their own country, so their people will
want to stay.

hehe....not at all. I have a few 'loops' to choose from each day, from
20 min to 2 hours....and if the weather isn't too nasty, I'm practicing.
I'm really enjoying a bike that's way better than my abilities (at the
moment!)

We are 'global' these days. More than a quarter of NZers live and work
overseas....and there's nothing wrong with the living/work conditions
here. But this is an Island (well, a few Isalands), so we don't get
people just wandering across a border.

What is the point of even having a border if it's not enforced?....same
goes for the people hiring 'illegals', if there are laws, they must be
enforced, or we can all just do as we want with no consequences.

We have been wondering the same, too.

I live in Phoenix and it's horrible here – and honestly, it is sometimes scary. Even the conservative state surveys show that every Arizona family is paying $1,700 per year to deal with this problem. They're breaking the law. They are trespassing. A country without borders is not a country. You can't just let anyone who wants to come and live in your house. You will run out of food, water, electricity – you get the idea.

Okay. I'll calm down now. Have a happy new year!
