If I were to take a camping trip to Baumgartner campground
in Idaho, and stay in the primitive area to the West of the
campground, is there a place nearby where I could fill my
trailer with water so that I don't have to carry a full load all
the way from home? I seem to recall a water spigot up by
the pay phone, but I could be mistaken. Also, is there a
dump station in the campground? If not there, is there some
place in or near Featherville for dumping?

We don't stop riding because we get old, we get old because we stop riding.

I've heard there is water available at the spigot you mentioned. I've
also heard it helps if you make an adapter so you can attach your
trailer's hose to the spigot. I think it's a short section of garden
hose with the male end still attached, hose clamp the adapter to the
spigot, screw your hose to the adapter and fire away.

There is a private campground in Pine, you may be able to buy a
"dumping" there. If not, there is a public dump in Fairfield, which is
about 15 miles east of where you turnoff from hwy 20 to go to
Pine/Featherville. The next closest one is in Shoshone (between hwy 20
& I-84) or Mtn. Home. There is one at the Big Smoky Guard Station, but
that's a 16 mile drive up a bumpy dirt road then another 12 miles to
pavement on a decent dirt road.

Or you could take a slight detour into Ketchum, find one of the Sierra
Krappers that want to close the Boulder/White Clouds (Germania/Frog
Lake, Williams Cr./Boundary Cr.), leave them a "donation" in their
driveway...

There is a water spigot near the payphone. It's across the road. I seem to
recall you may want bring a hose with the female end cut off. I don't think
the spigot is threaded and you have to fit the hose over it. Bring a clamp
to clamp it tight, as I also seem to recall someone getting very wet when
the water was turned on. Ask David to be sure.

I don't have a clue about the dump station. Thanks for asking, as I'll need
to know also.

They make a thing the RV stores call a "water thief" see linky below for a
picture.

Another good trick it just buy an el-cheapo shower head/hose combo that has the
push on adapter type fitting that is meant to be shoved over an exiting faucet.
Throw the shower head part away. It won't hold high pressure but is fine for
filling fresh water tank.
