The southern 100 course is bang on.

The bits that I have unlocked of the TT are very accurate too.

However, the bikes handling is VERY unrealistic even without all the
computer aids. Its much more an arcade game than a sim, but still worth a
look if you like that sort of thing.

Crashes are funny though!

Cool, SWMBO should be picking me up a copy today.

I walked into Game yesterday just before closing time (8:45 or something
like that) and tried to buy one but they were having none of it.

I bought a copy [1] this morning, had a quick play at lunchtime. Quite
impressive.

Hmm, do *any* bike games have vaguely realistic handling? The original
MotoGP at least has virtually no concept of lowsides or highsides.

I'm on the last trial bit on the 250's, it is not easy!

The only one I've ever seen/played is GP500 on the PC. You had
controls for the bike (accelerate, front brake, rear brake, steer left,
steer right) and the rider (lean left, forward, back, right), among all
the usual stuff. That would let you wheelie/stoppie if you moved the
rider in the appropriate direction, ISTR it doing highsides + lowsides
but can't be sure.

We did an online match a couple of times, but I think I was still on
56k then, and veggie dave whupped everyone by miles. I recall it was
good, but it wasn't huge amounts of fun - on anything but the easiest
settings one fuckup would lose you the race.

On the balance between it being a fun computer game and realistic it's
about as far towards realistic as you could go without making the game
so hard it takes a week of intensive training to be able to play it.

Too much throttle/brake while leaned over too far. Easy. Add a bit of
vibration (as they do now) for when the tyre's scrubbing for a bit of
feedback, and a big kick for when it all goes tits-up.

After all if you can wheelie just by "leaning back" and gassing it...

Well, they could add a "simulation mode" and leave the default to
arcade style, as I've seen in other games. Just arrange it so that
really gross control inputs will have the desired (or not) effect.
