just got my learners and am thinking of getting a hyosung GT250. i am 6ft2
and 120lb and the comet seems to be the largest bike around.

does anyone have one, how is the bike, most review i've read seem to
indicate it will be fine?

55kg?! Have you checked yourself for a pulse lately? Wink

Seriously though, nobody's going to take you seriously as a bikie until
you put some weight on. Go out and get youself a pie. Actually, make
it two. Wink

I had a sit on one a few years ago:

http://home.iprimus.com.au/martyh/wintersun/imagepages/image6.htm

And it was a very comfortable fit (I'm about 3" shorter than you). If
you find yourself sitting too upright on it you can always change the
handlebars for something a bit "flatter".

For what it's worth, the GPX250 seems to work reasonably well for
taller people too (well, Clem reckoned it was OK).

Yeah, but knees around ears interferes with head checks.

The LAMS 650 (clever throttle stop version) will be more suitable, I think.

ah, 120kgs makes more sense! I think the Hyosungs look great for
larger-framed riders...there's a bloke who parks near me most days who has a
Hyosung 650 - looks big (from my point of view as a bloody widget grrrr) and
I used to look at the size of the bike, and the L-plate on it, and just
wonder what sort of rider the owner must've been. When I eventually saw him
he'd got an enviable shiny new P-plate on the bike. He is probably around
the 6' mark, but not a BIG bloke - fairly average build.... But doesn't have
to fold himself into a bike like mine.

Here's the thing though - I reckon when you get your bike P's you should
celebrate by getting a new bike (not sure why I don't think the same about
cars, ha ha ha!) and I suppose I'm wondering whether it would be a bit of an
anti-climax to get your Ps (such an achievement!) and then get back on your
old bike (even if they HAVE done the magic thing to de-limit it or whatever
they do)... I guess it wold be a very sensible budgetary choice...

betty, bloody envious in any case...

It's actually slightly more than a clever throttle stop.

purchase... I'm trying one out tomorrow so hopefully it will be an easy
decision...

Open up the carbies and you'll find a scientifically drilled hole in the
slides (I think that's what their called).

Fill up the holes and ...whoosh! Smile
