I use a BMW Airflow Jacket (other brands have similar types) and consider it
to be a good choice.
Look at your friendly local BMW dealer.

2nd vote for Cairns, and this time with a Dririder RallyCross. Being
6"6, I found the Dri-mesh jacket wasn't long enough for me. The
RallyCross is a 3/4 length jobbie, and fits nicely. The arms are also
longer than the equivilent sized Dri-mesh.
By way of quality, I'm quite happy with it. I've had it a couple of
years, and it's holding up really well. There have been some reports of
the 1st "model" (of which mine is) having some quality problems, but
I've never experienced anything. Allegedly those probs were fixed with
the 2nd generation design ("Dual Sport" series, vs Off Road series,
apparently). The only complating I have is with the velcro straps on
the arms sticking to the mesh on the chest. The ol' "I've stuck myself,
err, to myself" trick.
Jessie-girl has a Dri-mesh, has had it for a bit longer than I've had
the RallyCross, and it's also holding up well. Fits her well, and seems
to be lasting well.
Have a try of both, and see which fits you better. If you're of the
longer and ganglier persuasion, the RallyCross would probably be the
better bet.
All that said, The BMW jackets do come highly recommended, even though
I've never had the pleasure of one. I'd imagine that the cost of them
would be higher, but for the allegedly outstanding quality, you may
decide it's worth it.
Thanks!

I use a Dririder Rallycross, reasonably cheap, excellent airflow, comes
with a wet weather liner and a pocket for a hydration pack bladder.
Any mesh jacket will do though. Find them at your nearest bike shop. >> Stay informed about: Hot weather jacket |

I stepped off on the dirt in mine, but it was low speed so doesn't
really count. You get very wet if you fall off in a river too (though
this is probably the case unless you're wearing a wetsuit), but it was
stinking hot so I didn't mind too much. I crash tested my Dririder
Nordic 2 on tar at about 70kph and it exhibited some absolutely first
rate abrasion resistance, couldn't say the same about my jeans. >> Stay informed about: Hot weather jacket |

I have an old model Rjays mesh jacket, which I chose because it had
red instead of black on the main areas that get the sun.
It does make a difference.... The ones with black on the back and the
top of the arms are hotter in direct sunlight.

Can't say in degrees, but the difference between the black one I
borrowed and the red one I bought was definitely noticeable.

I have the Dri-Rrider Rallycross ,the only problem I had was with the
front zip.I had it replaced by the tailor at the RAAF base ,had no
problems since.
Still hot though at 41 c , even the airflow does not cool you down at
those temps and the air feels like it super heated.
Needless to say I didn't bother getting the winter liner.

I don't think Zebee said it was an empirical measurement but yeah. I have an
RJays jacket also which is yellow and red, with the lower halves of the
sleeves black. Black clothing and helmets do feel hotter than lighter
colours.
You're the scientist, you do the empirical testing.

I'll add a "me too" here as well.
After I bought a black Shoei and did a few GP trips and ride-days in it I'm
a white-or-silver-only man now.
