Joe Rocket Sahara soakable liner, Camelback and even picked up a
soakable DO-RAG at the Harley dealer to keep cool in this miserable, now
humid, SW heat. For short local rides, I wear my vented leather pants
with cycling shorts underneath & the PHX jacket up top, plus winter
gloves for better insulation. The Sidi-(Triumph) boots don't bother me,
temperature wise. For longer rides, I switch to the vented leather top.

The best part was parking my bike outside the new Harley 'fashion'
dealer and walking in with crotch-rocker attire. They were polite, with
only a few confused looks.

I do that all the time. The regulars and employees just say "hi
Steve", the yuppie morons occasionally make stupid comments until
informed that I'll insert them into their own tailpipe if they even
think about screwing with my bike Wink The management occasionally gets
a bit cheesed when I do a rolling burnout in the service bay, but they
don't really mean it Wink

Hey Bob, the old man is right there with ya. Smile I just left the Country
Buffet
for breakfast, and they had a Honda Gold Wing club meeting there. I am
decked
out in Fieldsheer Sonic Air jacket and pants, with Alpine Stars SM-X Plus
boots.
With my skinny self I made quite a sight! I waved at them,; they looked me
up and down,
smiled and waved back. Plus, they all parked in the parking lot, and I
parked up on the
sidewalk, right in front of the window where I am eating. They will never
knock me
down in the parking lot, been there done that! Smile

But, the stares happen all the time. And you know when I do the rare trip
with jeans and
cowboy boots, I feel naked.. To tell the truth, I am glad I got myself in
the habit of wearing
gear at all times..I have a hot shot buddy, who narrowly escaped death,
preaching that if he
just goes to the store, he will have full leathers on! Smile

Keeping on with the keeping on, and stay safe on that side..

Your buddy,;

Coleman, where’s the ride report for your new RC51? I “know” you’ve
gotten it past break-in mileage by now! Or did I miss it?
