Question from a long term reader, first time writer.

I'm coming home to Europe soon from Japan, and want to bring back my
2002 Hornet 250 with me. We've become attached, kinda.
I wanted to know, have they become common in England and Ireland on
the grey market, or even if there is a European version available
these days? (I can only find CB600F)
My worry is about spare parts, especially the back tire.

Thanks for your time
Paul

AFAIK cycle parts are pretty much the same on the Hornets - I remember
reading in a magazine, when only the 250 existed, that it had the same wheel
sizes as the then 'Blade, so tyres won't be a problem.

Engine, carb and electrical parts may be a different matter, tho', should
owt go wrong....

There's an owners club <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.hondahornet.co.uk/" target="_blank">http://www.hondahornet.co.uk/</a> which you might want
to contact for advice. They have some members with 250s.

As WavyDavy says, parts are common to other bikes in the Honda range e.g.
CBR250 which is a reasonably commom grey import in the UK.

Tyres: <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.fwr.co.uk/" target="_blank">http://www.fwr.co.uk/</a> have plenty of tyres that will fit e.g.
Bridgstone BT012, BT014 or BT010 assuming you are running Front 130/70 ZR16
and Rear 180/55 ZR17

Simply get your hands on four or five helium filled weather ballons and
float it across the Atlantic on a jet stream.

My mistake, missed the part about coming home to Europe from Japan.
Automatically assumed that home was the east coast of N.A.
Okay, then he should use the same five helium weather balloons and float
them over the continent.
Or better yet, instead of just five balloons, use 99 balloons and paint
them red.
He may have to harness a couple of homing pigeons to the balloons in order
to keep the balloons and bike on course.

Wait a minute, I've just had a better idea.

He should approach the Chinese and ask the to launch the bike into low
orbit. They should be able to set the trajectory and velocity so that the
bike stays high enough while the earth rotates and and then the bike will
descend through an arc so that the it lands in the intended country.
He may want to either put a parachute on the bike or put a few mattresses
out on the lawn.
