Whoever runs this forum sucks because I've tried to post this up about
3 times and every time I try it manages never to show. Anyway, Im
looking at getting a 2001 F4i. Apparently when you flick on your
lights, one of the lights turn on and then when you flick on your
brights the second one lights up along with the first one. Im not too
crazy about how it looks when Im riding with just one light and was
wondering if anyone heard of any mods to get them both to light up in
unison for when Im NOT using my brights, since I'll rarely be using
them.
Thanks,
Ray

I have the 2002 version of the same bike, as you say on low beam just one
headlight comes on and on high beam the other comes on too. There's no way
to change this behaviour because it uses two single filament bulbs and two
dfferent reflectors to give a dedicated low bean and high beam patter. THe
low beam has a very sharp cut off and a wide spread of light, the high beam
is equally sharply defined but has a much "longer reach" Personally I don't
give a toss about how it looks so long as I can see where I'm going when
it's dark and others can see me. This obviously work well because I've never
had car drivers get out of my path as quickly when filtering through traffic
on any other bike. I'll admit to being slightly disappointed at finding it
only had 1 low and 1 high beam when I first got it, but "handsome is as
handsome does" and the lights on this bike "do" very well thank you.

I leave both on, not the answer you wanted to hear but at least I'm better
seen by motorists.
So many people have commented that I have 1 bulb burnt out, didn't honda
think about this reaction, not the greatest PR.

Probably also leaving a traile of pissed-off motorists in your wake since
you're riding around with your main beams on all the time...

Nobody has ever commented om this to me. Maybe in the UK people are more
used to seeing modern bikes with only one headlight on. It's pretty common.
