There's lots of NJ info in the northeast forum over on thumpertalk.
I've garnered that its sandy, there are wild areas, there are enforced
areas, are a few nutjobs. There are a few MX tracks as well.

I live in PA, but ride in NJ. Central/South Jersey is pretty bleak.
There is one park www.njorvp.org . Sandy single track and an MX track.
There are other not so legal spots here and there. Many unofficial
spots that weren't really patrolled are now shut down due to assholes
vandalizing stuff, burning tires, etc.
Best way to get to ride great spots like the state forest is to ride
enduro's. I've done a couple, but I'd rather just ride and see the
sights.

Man, I may have been looking in the wrong spot but from the looks of it I
need about a million dollars for a 3 bed 2 1/2 bath house. I don't think
they'll be willing to pay me that much.

Oh yea. Property taxes are killer and you can't get a permit to carry
concealed either (if you're into that).

I didn't get into WHY I live in PA because I really didn't think that
would have been helpful. lol

Tim,
If it has ANYTHING to do with that National Animal Sex Offender Registry, Do
not tell us.
I guess it COULD be because PA is more relaxed in their Sibling marriages.
Not as relaxed as TN or AR.

Crap riding, unless you enter enduros. There are some places in PA that
aren't so bad if you don't mind driving a few hours.

IIRC, you're up in Oregon or someplace nice like that, right? North Jersey
might as well be another planet.

OTOH, there are very few bears.

With fresh material like that Letterman should be calling any second.

Rick, its bad but it's not horrible. Like Craig said, if you're up for
travelling a bit, Paragon Adventure Park is really nice. If you're
used to the area's like in the Spodefest pics, you're going to be
disappointed. Buddies and I ended up converting our XR's for dual
sporting, because that opens up a lot of ground.

Good luck with the interview!

Thanks Tim. I doubt they will offer me enough money to go but it's good to
know what I'd be looking at as far as riding goes. The housing there is
absolutely outrageous. Like California.

Just a bad time to try to buy. Jersey and PA within commuting distance
to NY or DC is booming. The lower the interest rates got, the crazier
the prices got. I bought went rates had dropped to 6% (that was low at
the time) and it was complete chaos. Had 2 houses sell right out from
under me, and someone tried over-bidding on the house I got after the
seller agreed to my price and I had it under contract.

I've only been here 3 years, and if I was just shopping now, I
literally couldn't afford it. I feel for ya.

I think Rick likes bears. Weren't you there to hear him squeal with delight
when he found that one rummaging through his ice chect? It was like a scene
from a Disney movie.

It's much less of a cultural backwater these days, really.
Oh, well, enjoy SoCal. Y'all should have a banner fire season with all of
the grass and brush growth that all of the recent rainfall will promote.

Interesting if the methane released, since it is a much more effective
greenhouse gas than CO2, would be worse than the CO2 sequestered at least
temporarily in the sinking dead algae bloom. Might make things worse, not
better, and that entirely beside the smell and fish kills.
