I just bought a HD 2004 Dyna Wideglide only to find the cornering clearance
on a right-hand curve when riding with a passenger is abysmal! The steel
frame under the muffler grounds out on the mildest of curve. Is there an
adjustment I can do to raise the rear? No manual came with the 'bike.

Progressive suspension fork springs, heavy-duty fork oil, and +1/2-inch
or +1-inch Progressive Suspension model 418 adjustable shocks will make
a huge difference in cornering clearance as well as handling.

Replace the stock pipes (like everyone else does). You'll gain MUCH
clearance no matter which brand you purchase..

ROTFLMAO.

Yeah, those are those terrible selling Harley four-cylinder, inline,
watercooled, dohc, 4-valve per cylinder, monoshocked, clip-on equipped,
full fairing, hypersports bikes!

Hmmm , they must have changed their policies sometime in the last 30 years .
My 76 FLH still has it's owners manual ...
Have you ever heard of shock preload ? Look on the bottom of the rear
shocks , see those little cam thingies ? You can turn them to preload the
springs for 2-up or solo riding !
Really !

Check the preload on the rear shocks.
Crank it up to the max. The stock shocks are too soft.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Wicked Uncle Nigel
<wun.DeleteThis@wicked-uncle-nigel.me.uk> saying something like:

Sure. First, cut out the offending part and throw it away. Then replace
the other parts with something with International Harvester on the side.

If you don't want to undertake such radical surgery, there must be a
stiffer spring and damper available.

New Zealand don't have many of them -- it's mostly like rural England
