A couple of pics of the completed mandrel and one nearly completed
bearing lap posted next door . This lap will be for the sprocket and
pinion shaft races in the cases . Laps for the connecting rod races and
transmission clutch gear race are in a similar stage of completion .
Shirley we need a drink before going next door ...

Thanks Tom ,I'm enjoying doing it . If I had to buy this stuff ...
that lathe has paid for itself several times over just from what I've
saved on tooling and parts .
Not to mention the hours of enjoyment watching a hunk of raw stock
become something useful .

Well , if I still had a four speed ... but I do have a pretty nice
Sunnen cylinder hone . Almost stole two of them from a pawn shop four
years ago . One of the two got traded for a 45 pinion shaft and crankpin
.. Of course I kept the best stones ...including all three sets of new
ones .
