I went to Alice's on Sunday and it was crowded, no tables available
and the staff was under stress. Decided to head toward Santa Cruz via
La Honda and Hwy 1. Stopped at the Gazo's Grill on Hwy 1. To my
surprise, some of the staff from Alice's Restaurant are at the Gazo's
Grill. Friendly folks who said its a shame about Alice's, it had alot
to do with management. Had the best New York steak and eggs I can
remember on real plates not on paper plates.
Nice view of the ocean and plenty of level bike parking . If your are
looking for a good ride, good meal and friendly service try the Gazo's
Grill.

Great spot!! Good food and friendly folks. A true highway diner! By
the time I get there from the bay area I am ready to eat and relax a
spell.
