Ive just moved to a new place, and it has that most fantastic of things, a
dry, sound garage!

So, now I want to fit it out with enough bits to do more than the basic
maintenance that has been possible previously..

So, have a small (tiny) compressor and rattle gun, but want to get a really
decent size one and put a line round the wall.. Searched the usual
(machinemart etc) but does anyone have any other sugestions for a) good
makes and suplliers, and b) any other essential pieces of tool porn that I
should be purchasing?

Northern Tool in Portsmouth are having a WACS weekend, Friday and Saturday,
so everything is
almost cost or some stuff below cost
I think the Bike lift last year was going for £ 199

I'd concur, but add at least one Anglepoise-type tungsten-bulbed lamp,
for use when using or working on things that are rotating, as the
flicker of a strip light makes rotating items appear stationary.

A ring main around the garage comes in very handy, with sockets evenly
spaced around (you can never have too much light or too many sockets)
- and shelves, lots of shelves.

What does "WACS" mean?

You've been able to buy bike lifts for 199 for ages.
