New to the group and considering a GT 1000.

Briefly test rode one on a 45 degree day without the best gear on, so the
ride was short -- too short.

Anyone have any comment on a 200-pound, 6'2" guy with a 36" inseam being
comfortable for any distance on one? I appreciate any input.

Guess I should add that I just read an absolutely glowing review of the GT,
but the rider was only 5'7", which worries me.

What type of riding are you going to be doing? Mostly long distance? It
seems like a very standard riding position to me, which is good for lots
of body sizes.

I've only ever sat on one, but I'm about 210 pounds and I did notice
that the forks seemed a little soft for me, and they aren't adjustable
in any way. Check out recent photos from corks on how he solved this
problem, he put on an ST4S front end.

a mate of mine has one , he's a good 6 foot plus a bit and prolly just under
a 100pd and rides one quite well

however he has changed the forks , the rear shocks and also put on lower
bars

check out the forums ducati.ms and then the sport classic sub forum - lotsa
info there

99 honda vtr 1000 vs 00 ducait 900ss? - Hello, at the risk of touching off a flame war. What would your opinion be as to which is the better buy: a 99 Honda VTR-1000 for $5000 or a 00 Ducati 900ss for $6000. Both have around 6K miles. I've ridden a VTR before but not a 900ss. From what..
