While riding last night, I got to thinkin' about bikes I really enjoyed
riding.
For many of us, it's the first one we've owned, or maybe a bike we
struggled to get, and finally owned.
Of all the bikes I've owned or have passed through my hands in the past
years, this little 750 Spirit is the Most fun thing to ride I think I
ever had.
I still hold the Nighthawk in high regard, cuz it IS fun to ride, but
this little Vtwin is a riot. It has a few 'warts', but they all do. It's
just that all in all, it's as much (maybe more) fun ridin' than any bike
I've had for a long long while.

I currently have 11 bike here, 5 run!. The most fun was when my little
brother and I both had Honda CT70s. We could ride San Diego's canyons
(legally), then pop out and look for mopeds to smoke with our superior power
and speed.

Paul ...
You know, I just thought about my 'first' ride. A Whizzer. I barely
remember it, but I do rememeber it being a lotta fun.
It's kid stuff I know, but WTF it was a big thrill then.

The most "fun" bike I ever rode wasn't mine. My older sister dated a guy
back around 1970 that rode and he convinced her to buy a Honda CB 175. She
ride it twice I think and it just sat in the garage after that so whenever
she and my parents were out of the house I took it out. Quite the thrill for
a 14 year old kid to be riding around the neighborhood. I was always amazed
she didn't notice the extra miles on it 3 years later when she sold it and
that my Dad didn't notice the missing lawnmower gasoline! I found out years
later my Dad knew all about it. Seems the neighbors had told him but he
figured it was better for the thing to be used once in a while than to sit
and rot in the garage.
Once I got to be 18 and had a few bucks in my pocket I bought myself a
Yamaha XS 360. At the time I thought of that as a "big" bike. Rode the shit
out of it for 10 years but it's the CB 175 that gave me the most fun. I
think the fact I wasn't supposed to be riding it made it just that much more
exciting. If I ever happen onto one for cheap I think I'd buy it just for
the memories.

I found superior power and speed beating VW Rabbits at stop
lights to 40 MPH with my Honda CB100.

I refer Mr. Beardg to the tale of the boy who cried wolf.
Moto has been pissing off people here for so long, that when he
actually finally posts a non-assholic article, they are still in
reactive mode from his many previous assholic posts.
I guess that's too bad. I have already posted saying I hope he
reforms himself. But if he ends up taking shit for a long time,
based on what he has posted in the past, well, he only has to look
at his own behavior and to understand basic human nature to explain
why it happens.
Just suddenly stopping bad behavior won't get folks to forget all
the shit stirring he was doing before.

For me it was the '76 CB750A full dresser. That bike was amazingly smooth
and handled like it was on rails. I dragged the bags more than once on that
riding with my buddy who had a Ninja/7, back in 88 & 89. Metzlers and some
stiff shocks had me keeping up with him thru' most turns, all the while I
was carrying the day's riding provisions, listening to the stereo and
enjoying my cold soda sitting in my cup holder.
Ah, the days....
