I really like the 06-07 FZ1's compared to the last generation models. Except
for that silly exhaust they cleaned up the looks quite a bit, I sat on one,
decent sporty seating position, got a better fork on the front, doesn't look
too heavy.
I'd get one. >> Stay informed about: FZ1 Yamaha 2006 naked oppinions ? |

Bahh, typical Jap cost cutting BS:
"Also new for '06 is the front and rear Kayaba suspension with 5.1
inches of travel, slightly less on both ends than previous. It's led
by a 43mm inverted fork, which unconventionally has the rebound and
compression damping circuits relegated to just one leg for each; fork
spring tension is adjustable on both legs." >> Stay informed about: FZ1 Yamaha 2006 naked oppinions ? |

Theoretically, if the front end were perfectly rigid it would work.
In practice, I've never read a raving review about such systems. In
my recent experience with a one legged 1800 Goldwing, the front end
was absolute spagetti.

Let me know when Penski, Ohlins et al move on to this high tech design
practice... >> Stay informed about: FZ1 Yamaha 2006 naked oppinions ? |

Why do you dismiss that idea out of hand? I'm curious how well it
works. It only has to beat any other design *the same price or less.* >> Stay informed about: FZ1 Yamaha 2006 naked oppinions ? |

I didn't push it very hard, but no. Do they do that too? >> Stay informed about: FZ1 Yamaha 2006 naked oppinions ? |

That if they ever want to run with the big boys they need to get better
suspensions? >> Stay informed about: FZ1 Yamaha 2006 naked oppinions ? |

Ducati vtwins are finishing top-10 in Formula Extreme, ridden by local bike
shop boys, I say get Jeremy some real suspenders, use that 100% displacement
advantage to some good use besides being a boat anchor, and stop pretending
that cherry picking the sv650's consists of "working well". >> Stay informed about: FZ1 Yamaha 2006 naked oppinions ? |

That's awesome! Congrats to them.

The Thunderbike series is a power to weight ratio. What does
displacement have to do with it?
Since the majority of the top 10 are Buells, wouldn't you say that stock
Showa front end is doing well? The SVs don't even come close to LOOKING
like SVs any longer in the Thunderbike series. Gixxer front ends,
720CCs, etc... >> Stay informed about: FZ1 Yamaha 2006 naked oppinions ? |
