ignore me, just noticed the "got to be brand new" bit.

Why, BTW? Are you buying it through your firm to claim back the VAT,
or something?

Really?

<fx:googles>

Hmmm, it's close - lowest list is just over £16k, and some online
discount places have them advertised for less. Of course, there's
always the must-have "optional" extras to push the price up.

Anyway, surely everyone ends up going over their original budget on car
& bike purchases.

Don't they?

http://www.motorpoint.co.uk has them, 2008 with delivery mileage only,
for £15999.
Doesn't that count as new?
It also has Impreza WRXs at the same price.

I've never understood this 'budget' idea. To me it's always been a
case of selecting what I want based on merit and only then starting to
work out if I could afford it. I always used to piss me off, going
into a 2nd-hand car or bike dealer and being asked 'how much do you
want to spend?' co's the answer was invariably 'as little as
possible', whereas how much I'd be prepared to spend would be based
purely on whether I considered what they'd got to be worth what they
were asking.
