The other day on a ride, I rode through some "open woods" to connect one
trail to another... maybe 50 yards. I've been trying to hook those two up
for years. Anyway, along the way, I got a face full of some branch/leaves
and I think there was some vine action on the branch too. Within hours, my
left eye looked like hell.. swollen lid... droopy (any of you moto chicks
want me now?Smile.. crap coming out of it and crusting up... and yesterday,
it bopped over to the right side. The crap is leaving a film that is
affecting my focus (looking thru a windshield with the wipers on on a
rainy day). Is this sounding familiar to anyone? If so, what fixed it?
No.. I haven't asked my doctor because of a little technical disagreement
we are in the midst of and because I *HATE* when people touch my eyes.

Mike, as good as we are with orthopedics, don't trust us with
your eyes. Go to your optomotrist or opthomologist ASAP.
Your eyes are not to be messed with.

well, I'm hoping this is just some sort of irritation that I picked up
crashing through the plant material with my face. Earlier, I got to freak
out when I imagined pine sap getting into both my eyes. Gross! I'm still
open to hearing whether others have had this sort of problem or not
before...

Yes.

Wearing my goggles.

Go to a doctor now. Don't know about you, but I *HATE* not being able
to see out of both eyes.

Mike,
You scratched your eye with a non-sterile object which resulted in an eye
infection (Conjunctivitis). It is very contagious and easily spread to
your other eye as well as other people. Symptoms are usually a dry gritty
feeling, excretions, crusting, and soon a blood shot look (Pink Eye).
While it is possible it will go away on it's own (a good eye drop solution
will help), you really NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR! They will hook you up with
some anti-biotics. You will need to take the whole course, if you
quite just because the eyes look better it will make it worse. And Mike;
wear your fuggin' goggles!

I KNEW someone in here would know... looks like I have to go see that
f'ing butcher... I only keep him because he writes a prescription anytime
I tell him to (it pays to do people's physics/chem in college:). Thanks a
ton Eric... BTW.. I was wearing my goggles. They just got pushed aside by
the tree.

So you did his chemistry for him in college, now he's a doctor, and
you trust him to prescribe you the chemicals you're taking?
Um.. Ok. Smile

Organic, and I didn't even take the f'ing course myself. Physics too. I
trust his handwriting... I tell him what to write.
