I want to buy a Ducati 749, but being 5' 3" I was wondering if height
would be a problem?

If so, can they change the height of the bike?

Thanks

Chris

Sure they can put the optional small wheels and lower profile tires on it
and lower it by 3 inches. Talk to your salesperson.

they can change the height... best thing to do would be to shave the seat.
dont let them
lower it as it has issues with clearance.

when you lower it it sure as the heck does. Ive ridden a lowered one and
owned a lowered 620.
the 620 would scrape the pipe if you hit any sort of speedbump. The 749
was similar although had
a bit more.

peace.

PS) not saying the stock 749/749s has clearance issues.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

The 749's pipe is under the seat, are you sure you know whereof
you speak?

The standard issue pegs didn't scrape before my toes, and in
any case there are plenty of rearset options.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

was talking about the 620's exaust pipe/header which is routed under the
engine.

749 was refering to same with the addition of the plastics - so plastic
clearance. hell
my non-lowered 998 has a little scuff mark on the plastic near the chin.

Peace.
D

PS) little hard to scrape the undertail unless you highside - and - well -
at that point it doesnt
matter if your bike was lowered or not. Wink
