Damn, I am so pissed. Decided to do a tranny service on my Ram. Dropped
the pan and low and behold, the freakin' bolts holding the filter on are
some kind of bastard torx thing that I don't have. Wasted fluid and new
gasket for no damn reason, what a pisser!!!
The bastards.

What you need are called Mechanic torx bits. Go to home depot or sears and
you can buy a little set. I think home depot has the same little set I have.
I had to get them a few years ago when I had a 00kx250. You needed those
bits to work on the carb. good luck

Two words that will change your life:
Harbor Freight - if you don't have a store nearby, see
www.harborfreight.com
Warning - visiting a HF store can quickly fill your garage with
absolutely must-have tools at the most incredibly low prices.

Just need to remember 1 important thing when going to HF, "you get
what you pay for". The cheep shit "is" cheep shit. A $2 dollar set of
drill bits will only last for 1/2 the way threw what ever your trying
to drill and a $2 buck allen wrench will bend and strip before ever
getting close to disassembling your forks. Just MOP, YMMV.

I got a pair of $8.00 safety wire pliers based on someone's
recommendation. They've worked flawlessly both times I've used them. >> Stay informed about: OT-Dodge pissed me off today! |

That's a "gotta have" tool eh?
Idaspode has a set he got from HF as well. Last time I changed my
disposable bars I was thinking I would borrow his set to mount my
grips. Couldn't wait till then so I used regular pliers. I'll be
darned, they worked flawlessly as well. Still wish I had a set tho,
just so's I could say I have em, just like the pro's. At the rate
snows piling up this year, I won't be needing them for a long long
time.

A torx with nipple sticking straight out of the center, correct?
I have experienced this on other Chrsler products I.E. my Wrangler, VERY
irratating.
Self serviability is something I bear in mind when purchasing a product.
Chryler Corp should make a note of that, as I'm sure that many share this
feeeling. >> Stay informed about: OT-Dodge pissed me off today! |
