Not had the problem, but sounds like maybe the engine mounting bolt came
loose? I know they can crack the engine casing there if they do, maybe
damage to frame too.

Yeh, I think its a known fault due to loose or failed engine mounting
bolts.Should be easy to weld up cos its a steel frame.

Do ya think he even knows someone has replied? The footer of the original
posting indicates it was posted to usenet groups on the person's behalf and
directs us to visit a topic URL to contact the author.

Can anyone be bothered?

Problem was noted in UA and Ducati fitted a new frame under warrantee
something to do with a too small a engine bolt coming loose - I have a 2003
model with no problems. I beleive it is quite obvious when it happens.

The one I know about was an 02 or maybe 03 model I think but I'm not sure .
It was replaced under warrantee and all parts transferred over to the new
frame without cost to the owner

Whilst he rode it in a spirited manner he never pulled wheelies or stoppies

Capt. A. L.

The later year frame has shown no sign of trouble to date

A few where cracked here in Australia near the engine monut (rear) a wrong
sized bolt was the blame, frames where replaced by NFI.
