Customization is really the wrong word for what most of us do with our
bikes; decorating isn't right either; it's more "personalizing" than
anything else.
I have seen endless lists of things people buy for their bikes;
typically due to the bike being a metric cruiser and having to replace
all the plastichrome with real chrome. Personally, I don't mind the
plastichrome and don't replace it.
As for me, I've got most of the requisite stuff - shield, lowers,
bags, aftermarket seat, sissy bar, but I don't have progressive
shocks, rear running lights, flashing brake light, and all the other
stuff I could put on.
To "personalize" my bike, I keep a stuffed bear wearing a "leather
jacket" atop my headlight behind the windshield. The bear has
sentimental value and was given as a gift by a loved one.
So for your main ride, how you personalize your bike?

That certainly personalizes it! As for me, I never ride my bike, so my
arse has never touched the seat. In fact, I got a new seat just to
ensure it was arse-free.

If your bike was a chick that looked like Thumper, well then it'd be a
*really ugly* chick!

I put miles on mine. New tires too. Brakes every now and then. Oil
changes regularly. Wash twice yearly. Enough said?

Hard luggage.
Freaking ugly, sticky-out hard luggage.
It's a crime against aesthetics, but it's somewhere to put the camping
gear
http://www.atp.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/R1_luggage.jpg
The only thing I can say in it's favour is that it comes off in
literally 10 seconds and the bike is completely unmodified.
Oh, and it's not dirty, it is a billion souvenirs of where we have been
together.
