I own a 2001 FXDXT and have found that I would like to have (need) a set of
crash bars. Does anyone have any experience with what will fit and where I
can obtain a set for this model? It is basically a Dyna but my local
dealer was no help on fitup.

Check the HD website for parts for your bike. You can drill down by
Year and Model. Might not pan out but you could end up with a part #.
Lastly you might check some of the bigger catalog shops such as J & P
Cycles.

Gotta be some engine guards out there somewhere.

I bought a set for my 2003 Dyana Wide Gilde in the US and brough them back
to the UK in a suitcase. I could have got them over here but think they were
about £200 a year ago. They are in the Harley catalogue. A doddle to fit
takes less than 15 mins

Hi - just to say that if you dont want to be utterly embarrassed when you
ask for these again then never, I mean NEVER, call them baby bounce bars -
the name had escaped me when I was asking for these to be put on my new Fat
Boy. Well it is an old Fat Boy to be honest, 1997 but still loads more fun
than my 2004 sportster that I had to sell to afford the Fat Boy. Over in
England the bikes come dear, I think I could have bought a much newer Fat
Boy with the money I got for the Sportster. Sigh. Still at least we have
warm beer.
