They've always had the power to refuse entry via dress code. "No
shoes, no shirt, no service".

What was different in NSW was making it part of the licence which now
appears to have been *imposed* on the licencee of the Royal Oak and
possibly on other pubs.

This is self-limiting anyway.

When it gets to the stage that they've ruled out just about every piece of
clothing that people wear, it will clash with their 'no shoes, no shirt' rule,
and basically, they just wiped out their patrons, thus income stream.

That's the extreme of course, and it will be limited way before that, around
when they first see a drop in profits due to a drop in patronage.

My 'vote with my wallet' philosophy appears to work quite well. Sure, I'm
only one person, but I'm part of society in general, that gets pissed off
eventually and goes elsewhere.

When in Scotland last April/May, I seen a sign outside a pub in
Dunoon: "no wearing of football colours". It was quite a nice pub, we
had dinner there. Seems we're not the only ones.

If anyone was to jump out from under a bridge, it would only be to push
you off it. Smile

I wouldn't create trouble, but I would take my custom elsewhere. And
I'd make a point of recommending against that place in future.
