Doc Wong Clear Creek Dirt Adventures Ride! March 5th and 7th!
Hi,
Clear Creek dirt riding area is a very unique place to ride and is my favortie
place to ride dirt bikes. There are over 900 miles of trails! The problem
is.......IF you can find them! The ones that are the most fun and entertaining
are the difficult ones to find! So, I'll show you some of these wonderful
trails!
Also the place is SO big that you don't have enough gas to see the whole place.
In fact, if you had enough gas, you could get all the way to Hwy 5 and
Coalinga!!!
Clear Creek is a lot of wilderness! There's only one or two rangers for a very
large area. With 900 miles of unmarked trails, it can be easy to get lost and
safety can be an issue.
I'm putting together 2 groups. One intermediate/advanced and a beginner group.
I'll be leading the intermediate/advanced group on some of what I consider
"entertaining" trails. They are the more tight and technical trails and should
be a lot of fun.
I'm also looking for someone to lead the beginner group, anyone up for that who
know Clear Creek?
We'll meet Friday night March 5th at my office for a very informative talk
about Clear Creek, the terrain, trail manners, what to do in case of an
emergencies, what you should have in your fanny pack, bike preparation, and
riding strategy for Clear Creek!
What: Friday Night Meeting
When: Friday night March 5, 2004 at 9:15pm
Where: my office: Active Life Medical, 1391 Woodside Road, Suite 200, Redwood
City, CA 94061
Cost: $0.00
What: Sunday Clear Creek Ride
Where: Clear Creek (1 1/2 hours south of Hollister)
When: Sunday March 7, 2004
Time: 9am at Oaks Flat (the first staging area in Clear Creek)
or: 6am for breakfast at Jerrry's Resturant in Hollister.
The trails are, shall we say; "close encounters of a dirt kind".
If you haven't been to Clear Creek before or haven't been there with someone
who knows the trails, you'll get a chance to see what all the hype is about on
this area. With more than 900 miles of trails, there is something for
everyone!
Rain: Only a severe storm may cancell this ride. Clear Creek does get a lot
less rain than the SF Bay Area does. I'll still go with a good rain in the bay
area.
Ride street, ride track, ride dirt, trials.....ride.....well!

**Special acknowledgement and thanks to Keith Code of California Superbike
Schools for his help and guidence and support. The Doc Wong Street Riding
Clinics are almost all based on his works.
My personal recommendation: Get his books and tapes on the subject, read them
and apply them....your riding will be much better for it!
And special acknowledgement to Gary Jaehne for his contributions on the
Suspension clinics and in his book: "Sportbiking: The Real World"....great
reading.
And special acknowledgement to L. Ron Hubbard who has provided me with the
vital tools to be effective in life and in teaching me how to learn
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Street riding, dual-sport riding, dirt riding, trials riding, side car riding,
now track riding....lots to do, not enough time...gota get to flat trackin
someday.
Recommendation if you ride street: Get a dual-sport bike or dirt bike and learn
how to ride in the dirt where it's always loose. Besides being a blast, it'll
make you a more confident street rider.
