As I type this, the hospital that I work at is paying around twenty
thousand dollars to have the Driveway transitions, in front of the
hospital replaced. The transitions I refer to are the scoops in the
sidewalk, that meet the road surface. The reason that these 5 year old
driveways have to be replaced is because that when the driveways were
put in, the cement on the incline of the transitions was grooved to
enhance drainage and traction. Well as it turns out, these grooves in
side walks are commonly used for the Blind, to indicate the boundaries
of a Cross Walk. Yes, the University that owns the hospital was sued!!

I recently went to the bank with a friend of mine, when he was withdrawing
some money from a drive-through MAC machine. We both got a kick out of the
braille instructions stamped next to the keypad.
