Indy should be a lot like Kansas City where I live and mid-September
has about equal chance of being 95F and 90% humidity, 65F and rainy or
80F and perfect. Usually around the 2nd week in September we get a
strong weather front from Canada with several days of moderate to
heavy rain that "breaks" the July/August heat wave of summer. Temps
after that rarely climb much past 80F. >> Stay informed about: Bye, bye, Laguna Seca |

Now there's a thought. Resurect the Indy mile under the lights on Sat. night
before the GP! Now, that's a road trip I couldn't ignore, no matter the
wallet pain..
Btw, you see where "Cool Breeze" tightened things up in Virginny? I heard he
and Jared put one hell of a show on in the feature..

I worked the 500 race for the first time last year and the guy I went with
had us there at 5:30 AM on race day but truthfully the crowd trickles in all
day long and there are so many entrances in hindsight I really didn't see
the need. I don't mind waiting in line for an hour if it means I can sleep
in an extra three hours. >> Stay informed about: Bye, bye, Laguna Seca |

I know some people that went thru hell getting in and out at 'Guna, but
other than the usual people not knowing where they wanted to go I really
never had that much of a prob, That said, I didn't have far to go, so we
always stayed late.. >> Stay informed about: Bye, bye, Laguna Seca |

Right. I live in the bay area but we camp there every year as friends come
far and wide to join us. Going into town for dinner on Saturday or leaving
Sunday was easy last year. >> Stay informed about: Bye, bye, Laguna Seca |

I seem to recall jumping on my bike and heading on out. Well, it was a
bit slow part of the way because of the buses. All that of course
because the main road in and out was reserved for all the dignitaries.
You know, the people who didn't pay to get in. Mostly Eurotrash, I
expect...

Average of 67 as in 50% chance it'll be sunny and 85-95, and 50% chance
it'll be 40-50 and raining? That's what I recall about living in
southern Wisconsin...

I guess that's what you get at a race where the place is only a quarter
full. And of course the whole experience compared to Laguna will likely
be sort of like shopping at a Wal-Mart in Des Moines as opposed to a
boutique store in San Francisco. But to each his own...

I just can't see how they get around that issue. I guess they can alter
T16 for a very shallow entrance onto the straight, but the guys are
still going to eventually swing out to the wall for maximum benefit. And
spoiled career-GP riders aren't going to like strafing a wall at 200.
Although slower, T4 seems like even more of a problem. It almost seems
like they're going to have to put some sort of curbing on the outside on
the oval, maybe even all the way down the straight. The oval track is
only 15m wide on the straights and 18m in the corners, so hardly
constitutes adequate runoff. >> Stay informed about: Bye, bye, Laguna Seca |

Heavens, F1. They may just as well drive straight out on Bonneville and it's
be just as entertaining... Then again, in MotoGP thus far in '07 they
may just as well have decided a few races on said Bonneville straight, some
would say... >> Stay informed about: Bye, bye, Laguna Seca |

Mees is HOT. Passing on a groove track is really hard, I guess that
he stuck it in there and couldn't stay on the black part. I'm
surprised
he still finished second. Coolbreath stayed cool and on the groove.

And best of all, I have friends in Indy, can sleep on the floor
for a couple nights.
Go fast. Take chances.
