I almost considered riding to work today, but then the sun wouldn't
come out and it was only 45F so I trashed that plan. I am in the
middle of my winter doldrums ( 0F tonight, 4 inches of snow or more,
15F as a high tomorrow ) so I am planning furiously what to do this
spring and summer.
My current plans are a Phoenix trip in late April or early May on the
touring bike. A trip up the BRPKWY for 3 or 5 days in mid June, either
on the dirtbike or touring bike, with the sportbike in reserve when I
get to Ohio to SPANK the backroads with.
By July the mountain passes in Montana should be open, so I figure
I'll trailer either the touring bike or dirtbike to Glacier NP and
rampage between there and Vancouver on the Canadian side, and then
rampage back on the US side. I might take both, and try and base out
of my brother in laws house for a roadtrip to Jasper and another to
every national forest I can find between Bozeman and the Canadian
border.
Also in July or August I'd like to get the dirtbike out to SW Colorado
and use it on some of those Jeep trails people are always talking
about, maybe start camping at Gunnison and work my day down to
Telluride and back.
And I figure there are at least 2 or 3 3-4 weekend type trips this
summer, leave noon Friday, back to work Tuesday type events ( only
cost me a days vacation ).
A big summer for me, I'm trying out my " I like touring, but more
shorter type stuff away from any interstate" concept.
