"slightly" used gear oil color ? - Hi all, I just drained the oil on my '99 YZ250. I replaced it about 4 weekends ago (Golden Spectro W80) so it has maybe 8-12 hours of riding at the local MX tracks. What color should I expect the oil to be ? I was surprised to see how dark greyish it..

I just read in Cycle News that "Brain" Jahelka designed the software
for the new electronic scoring system that was used at the National
Enduro in Sumter.

I guess he ain't just another purdy face. That guy was fun to have
around.

I should be doing something useful like that, instead of screwing
around with the air-traffic control system.

All this from a guy that couldn't find a suitable rock? (Inside
joke)

Good job Brian...

And a guy that was riding around on his KTM in Idaho without an axle
nut <G>

Was the rock supposed to be suitable for placing into another rider's
backpack?
Or for posing on?

I concur.

The sad thing is that I was riding his bike more than half way up Iron
Mountain when we discovered the missing nut. ( god this thing handles
funny )

The rock was to put on top of his head for one of our screwball
pictures (he ended up holding it on his head and calling it a "bad
rock"...

I still owe Scott Harrell a rock in the backpack as his father has
taught him the finer points of making your fellow riders stronger by
enabling them to carry 5 lb rocks in their backpacks half the day. I
still wonder how he was able to ride that fast while laughing his ass
off...

I run in to Brian from time to time at some events. He doesn't have clue as
to who I am (he was a trail guide for a Whiterock WUDI ride), but that's ok.
Brian is the father of a nearly two year old girl (Hope?). He's been moved
up to AA in the Black Jack Enduro Circuit where he is also the webmaster.
The question the circuit has been asking "Are we going to use your system
this year?" hasn't been answered yet.

Anything to help our fellow riders.

Well, he rides with me mostly, so he's had a lot of practice.
You should ride with him now. He just keeps getting better and faster.
Damn kid. He ought to be in a dogfight for the 200B class title in
this years Enduro Series, since last years class winner got bumped to
the A class.
Oh, and he's starting to drive now. Fair warning.

Scott's an ambitious lad, always trying to improve. That, and you had
a bigger pack than Mike.
