'77 electra glide - I am about to purchase a '77 electra glide. It's in pretty good shape but doesn't run at all, because of no battery. However, when you kick start it, it runs oil out of the bottom. I know I can get it for 1000 but can probably get it for 500,..

No, not all. Electra Glide Standard was the only Electra Glide still offered
in a Carb. All the Dyna's were FI Softails were still available in Carb, or
FI. Sportsters also in 06 were Carb.

That's my next question: does it make a difference ?? Pros/Cons ? I'm sure
if I change pipes the carb(s) would have to be re-jetted..other than
that...I don't know..hopefully I can gain enlightenment here!! lol

In 07 there were no longer carburetor bikes made from Harley. All model
lines are now FI.

It cost more to flash a new map in FI than it does to change out a couple
jets in a carburetor. And it is way more to put on a power commander or race
tuner. Especially if you have it dyno tuned.

There have been some locals taking of FI and putting on Carburetors. I'd be
the same way. I've never had a issue with my carburetor, and I know there
are some that say the same about their FI. So its just a matter of $ now or
$ later. Sooner or later FI is going to cost! If your mechanically stupid
like my friend and can't run a inrichner LOL than go FI. He's the only one
of the several Carbs I've modified that just can't seem to get the inrichner
down! He, is,,,,,dumber than dumb!!!

This E-G I'm getting has the solo seat. Is there a way to add a passenger
seat so I can keep the solo seat or do I have to ditch the solo and replace
the whole thing??

If it's the cop solo seat with the air bag, Mustang makes a matching
passenger pillion for it Part # is 79296 in the '08 Mustang catalog.
