Why did Doug Henry launch off that jump like that?

Did his throttle stick or something?

He figured it was the only way to get past McGrath.

McGrath was about 10 feet behind Henry when Doug launched.

After the moto Jeremy said how he watched Henry sail and sail..

I can dig that tape out again and make sure but I *think* LaRocco was
leading the moto and was pretty far ahead at that point.

I believe Henry himself later blamed it on major arm pump and the
resulting inability to let go of the throttle. It was in no way
intentional.
Nobody can ever accuse Doug Henry of not trying hard enough.

I believe that is correct also.
I do not believe it was a stuck throttle.
