Recently my ex M620 jammed up from 5 th down while out on a ride.
As the job was a warranty issue, and my knowledge of the inside of a gearbox
on a bike is little more up than 0, the issue as I was told was that a
circlip on one of the push rods that enter the gear box chamber that is
behind the drum shifter had fallen off, allowing the rod to jam on
something.
To fix this meant to enter the gear box itself, rather than the side panel
behind the outside shift lever.
Whether your problem is the same I dont know, but it was not a great drama
to repair apparently, and is rare according to the local Ducati Dealer.
