Vastly different engines. The '83's engine was an all-new design that year.

I use them all the time to look up part numbers. Right click on the
'add to cart' button, and select 'Copy Shortcut'. Paste the shortcut
into notepad and you can see the Honda part number, e.g.:

in this case it is '83600-ME1-670ZB'

From looking at the fiches and part numbers, I think that they will
probably fit but the badges or colors may be different. YMMV.

I'd guess the parts guy would know if the covers would be
interchangable.
If you can't find 'em used, try Whitney or Dennis Kirk. They have
replacements for older bikes, and they're both online too.
If all else fails, try Slicks in Mason Mi. It's a pretty big operation,
and they have a site.

Nope. '82 and '83 CB750SC use the same engine, a chain drive engine.
You are probably thinking of the 1984-86 CB700SC, shaft drive, AKA the
Nighthawk 'S'.

Check it out on partsfish.com- the '82 and '83 CB750SC have the same
crankcases, CB750SC crankcase set $1616.27 Honda part number
11000-MA5-770. 11000-MJ1-335 $1,909.20 is the '84 CB700SC crankcase.

I was actually thinking of the '83 CB650SC like my own, sorry. Didn't
realize they made the 750 in '83.
